Every page on this site is written by one named person. Here is who that is, and what they are and are not.

Who I am
I am Sawyer. I am an enthusiast who is genuinely into this — I read the manuals, compile the published specifications, and do the maths. No lab coat, no shop, no van full of product I got for free. When I say a coating claims two years, I will show you the document where the manufacturer says it.
What I am not
This part matters more than the part above, because in this category it is where most bylines quietly overclaim.
- Not a professional detailer. I do not detail cars for a living and I do not have a shop.
- Not certified by anybody. There is no qualification behind anything on this site.
- Not a tester. I have not applied these coatings, run these polishers or measured anything, and every page says so.
- Not an editorial team. There is one person writing here, and pretending otherwise would imply a review process that does not exist.
The reason to say all of that plainly is that the alternative is easy and common. Of the competitor pages surveyed before this site was built, five of nine claimed hands-on testing with no data, no photographs and no method, and one was a handicrafts site whose byline claimed an automotive detailing specialism. That is the bar, and it is on the floor.
How I work
I open the manufacturer’s own page for every product, record what it publishes, and record what it does not. Then I do arithmetic that nobody else in this category seems to bother with: cost per ounce, cost per year against a published durability claim, applications per bottle from a published consumption rate.
Every figure carries the source it came from and the date I opened it. Every blank is printed as a blank. Every score is arithmetic you can re-derive from the numbers next to it. The full method is on how we research, and the rules I hold myself to are in the editorial policy.
Why there is no photograph here
Because a stock photograph of a person presented as me would be a fabricated identity signal, and this site’s entire position is that it does not do that. A page that tells you plainly there is no photograph is worth more than one with a convincing stranger on it.
