For light seats that take daily wear, often yes. The case rests on one published figure: Nasiol claim up to a year, where Colourlock's protectant asks to be reapplied every three months on the seats that wear.

What a coating claims that a protectant does not
Duration is the difference. Nasiol publish up to one year for LeatherBoost, with a 24-hour cure away from sun, dust and water and an application window of 41F to 86F. Adam’s call their coating semi-permanent without a figure; it carries a UV tracer, cures rapidly, and wipes off after 60 seconds. Colourlock’s Leather Shield is a protectant rather than a coating, sold against wear, abrasion and dye transfer from clothing, and Colourlock publish a reapplication schedule instead of a durability claim.
When it is worth it
- You want one application to last: Nasiol publish up to a year.
- Spills worry you: Nasiol state a barrier against water and liquid-based stains.
- You want the dash and door panels done too: Adam's rate theirs for vinyl, the dash and door panels as well as leather.
When it is not
- Your leather is aniline: Adam's exclude it in writing.
- Dye transfer from jeans is the problem: Colourlock's Leather Shield names it, and neither coating listing does.
- You would rather not commit: a protectant reapplied every three to twelve months costs $26.99 a bottle.
If you buy one
Nasiol’s kit is $47.60 for 150ml with a suede cloth and an applicator block, and Nasiol publish a usage of 35 to 45ml per square meter on genuine leather. Adam’s is $80.00 for 50ml, or $100.00 as a kit, and they say 50ml covers multiple car interiors. Either way, the seats go on clean: the leather cleaner roundup covers that step, and the leather protectant roundup compares the protectants in full.
