Sling is the failure mode

A tire dressing that has not fully dried flings itself off the sidewall at the first roundabout and lands in a fine spray along the lower panels of a car you just washed. That is the single most common complaint about this category and it is entirely a function of the carrier and the drying time.

The honest framing: solvent-based dressings last longer and look glossier, and the concern about them drying rubber over years is a widely held view rather than something any manufacturer publishes data on.
