Only one publishes a cut you can check
Adam’s state their One Step removes up to 2000-grit sanding marks, using diminishing abrasives. 3D describe ONE as cutting like a compound and finishing like a polish, without a figure. On paper Adam’s is the one you can hold to a standard; in practice both are sold to remove swirls and light scratches in one pass.
Protection is the real difference
Adam’s One Step adds protection and gloss as it polishes, which is convenient if the car is going straight back into use. 3D ONE claims no protection at all, which makes it the cleaner base when a ceramic coating is the next step. Method, and the soft-paint warning
Adam’s publish the fuller method, down to drops, pad color and speed setting, plus a hand method with a hex-grip applicator. They also warn that their One Step Pad can micro-mar soft clear coats and point you to their softer white foam pad instead. 3D say ONE works on a rotary for aggressive cutting or on a dual action with a softer pad for finishing.
Sizes and value
Adam’s sell one 12 oz size at $1.92 an ounce. 3D sell three, and the 32 oz bottle comes down to $1.84 an ounce, which matters if you polish more than one car.
