Ceramic Coatings and Protection
The Best Ceramic Wax in 2026
A ceramic wax is a wax with SiO2 or graphene in it, sold as easier than a coating and longer-lasting than carnauba. Most of these say they can go on top of a coating, and two publish how long they last.

On top of a coating
The strongest argument for a ceramic wax is as a topper. Adam’s explain it on both of their listings: other waxes, sealants and detail sprays can detract from how a ceramic coating behaves, and their ceramic waxes are made for people who want another layer on a coated car. 3D sell theirs as a topper too, and McKee’s 37 sell their Graphene Coating Wax as a booster over wax, sealant or a graphene coating.
How long, where anyone says
Two listings give a figure. Adam’s claim up to a year for their Ceramic Coating Wax as stand-alone protection, and McKee’s 37 say Krystal Diamond lasts upwards of six months. McKee’s also say one jar gives at least 25 applications, which puts it at about $4.00 an application. Adam’s liquid version claims only to last up to twice as long as carnauba.
What to buy
- A published SiO2 figure: Adam's Ceramic Liquid Wax, $28.00.
- The longest stated life: Adam's Ceramic Coating Wax, up to a year, $90.00.
- Carnauba with SiO2, costed per application: McKee's 37 Krystal Diamond, $99.99.
- A spray for a coated car: McKee's 37 Graphene Coating Wax, $39.99.
Traditional waxes are in the car wax roundup, and coating versus wax versus sealant explains where each one fits.
Every pick, with the working
Each entry lists the specifications the maker publishes, the axis scores those specifications produce, and what you give up. Rows that read “Not published” are not omissions on our side: they are figures the maker will not commit to in writing, and they cost the product points on the transparency axis.
