Car detailing, spec-verified
The Best Car Detailing Products
Spec-verified picks for the upgrade you are actually making.

Everyone in this category says they tested twenty products
We have not tested any of them, and we say so on every page. What we do instead is compile what the manufacturers actually publish — silica percentages, orbit throw in millimeters, dilution ratios, GSM, coverage per car — cite the document each figure came from, and print the blanks where a maker will not commit to a number. Then we do the arithmetic in front of you.

Five categories, in the order the job happens
Wash, correct, protect, interior — and the tools that cut across all four. Every hub is a destination with real orientation copy, not a list of links.

What makes this site different
Every figure is cited
Each specification links to the manufacturer page or authorized-retailer listing it came from, with the date it was retrieved. Nothing is quoted from memory.
The blanks are printed
Where a maker does not publish a figure, the row reads 'Not published' and the product loses points for it. A blank is information; a guess is not.
The scoring is shown
Every score is arithmetic over published numbers, with the working printed underneath. You can re-derive any of it yourself, and disagree with the bands.
Every roundup names a skip
At least one product on every ranked page is one we recommend against, with the reason. A roundup where everything wins is an advertisement.
Read these first
Four pages that carry the argument: the highest-value category, the tool decision that matters most, the cheapest thing that protects your paint, and the one specification this hobby actually publishes.

How this site is funded
Buff & Bead earns a commission when you buy through a link on this site, at no extra cost to you. We are an Amazon Associate and have joined no other affiliate program, so every buy link here goes to Amazon. We accept no free products and no sponsored placements, and commission never affects the order of a ranked page — the ordering is produced by the published scoring rubric, and the working is printed on the page.
