The Best Detailing Setup for a Small Garage in 2026
When the car fills the room, storage is the real constraint. The useful numbers here are inches and pounds, and most makers in this category publish neither.

What to look for when the car fills the room
In a single-car garage the binding constraint is not power or capacity, it is the walking space between the car and the wall. That changes which specifications matter, and it exposes how few makers publish them.
Published dimensions come first, because a product you cannot measure is a product you cannot plan around. Mounting comes second: anything on the wall is floor space returned to you. Weight comes third, because a heavy item that has to be lifted down each time will stay on the shelf. Below, the picks are ranked on what each maker actually publishes against those three.
What each maker publishes
| Product | Price | Published size | Weight | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adam's InterVac Wall Mounted Vacuum | $199.99 | 2.5 ft tall, 4 in deep | 9 lb | On the wall |
| Chemical Guys Creeper Bucket Dolly | $54.99 | Fits 3.5-7 gallon buckets | Not published | Under the bucket |
| Adam's Compact Pressure Washer | $199.99 | Described as compact; no figures | Not published | Shelf or cart |
| Adam's Professional Detailing Cart | $579.99 | 41 x 20.5 x 37 in | Not published | The floor you do not have |
Put the vacuum on the wall
The InterVac is the pick because it publishes three dimensions and a weight, which is more than most vacuums in this ledger manage, and because all of them are small: 9 lb, two and a half feet tall, four inches deep, with the attachments stored on the unit rather than in a box on the floor.
Two honest caveats. Adam’s publish no suction figure for it, so you are buying on dimensions rather than performance, and it is a bagged vacuum with bags at $14.99 for five, which is a recurring cost their cyclonic unit does not have. The vacuum roundup covers that trade, and shop vac versus detailing vacuum covers the cheaper route.
Get the bucket off the floor, or at least onto wheels
A five-gallon bucket is the single most annoying object in a small garage: it is in the way everywhere, and dragging it scratches the floor and your shins. The Creeper dolly at $54.99 takes buckets from 3.5 to 7 gallons on five swivel wheels, so the bucket rolls along the car with you and then rolls under the bench.
Chemical Guys publish no load rating and do not state whether any caster locks, which are the two things you would want to know before loading it with forty pounds of water. The dolly roundup covers the alternatives, and the bucket roundup covers what goes on top.
The pressure washer question
Adam’s Compact Pressure Washer is $199.99 and is sold on being small enough to store on a shelf or a cart, with a standard quarter-inch quick disconnect. It is included here for exactly that reason, and it is ranked below the other two for an honest reason: Adam’s publish no PSI, no GPM, no motor rating and no weight for it.
Flow in particular matters, because GPM is what a foam cannon needs to make thick foam. Buying a washer with no published flow is buying blind, whatever its footprint. The pressure washer roundup covers machines that do publish figures, and whether you need one comes first.
What to buy
- The one upgrade that returns floor space: Adam's InterVac, $199.99, wall mounted.
- Stop tripping over the bucket: Chemical Guys Creeper dolly, $54.99.
- You want a washer that stores on a shelf: Adam's Compact, $199.99, with no published figures.
- You want a cart with everything on it: only if you have six square feet to give it.
- You have no wall to mount to: a bag and a dolly, and skip the vacuum mount entirely.
Every pick, with the working
Each entry lists the specifications the maker publishes, the axis scores those specifications produce, and what you give up. Rows that read “Not published” are not omissions on our side: they are figures the maker will not commit to in writing, and they cost the product points on the transparency axis.

Adam's InterVac Wall Mounted Vacuum
Adam's Polishes
$199.99 for a wall-mounted vacuum weighing 9 lb, standing 2.5 feet tall and 4 inches deep, with the attachments stored on the unit. Three published dimensions and a weight is more than most vacuums here manage, and they are the numbers that decide whether it fits your wall.

- Mounting
- Wall mounted, attachments stored on the unit
- Filtration
- Bagged; 5-pack of bags $14.99

What it does well
- Weight, height and depth all published: 9 lb, 2.5 ft, 4 in
- Attachments stored on the unit, which is where they stop getting lost
- Wall mounting frees the floor space a canister vacuum occupies
Who it is not for
- No suction figure published
- Uses bags, which are a recurring cost at $14.99 for five
- $199.99 is $40 more than the cyclonic unit, which needs no bags
How this score was calculated
- Protection claimdropped
- Nothing in this category is bought on how long it lasts, so the axis is dropped and the other weights are re-normalized.
- Capabilitydropped
- Adam's Polishes does not publish a figure for published suction on this product, so the axis is dropped and the remaining weights are re-normalized.
- Cost per ouncedropped
- This is not a consumable, so cost per ounce says nothing useful and the axis is dropped.
- Price against the ceiling2.0/10, weight 14%
- A listed $199.99 against the $250 one upgrade in this category realistically tops out at. A list price captured on the compile date, not a live price and not what you will pay.
- Written commitmentdropped
- Adam's Polishes publishes no warranty term on this product's own page, so the axis is dropped. On a tool that is worth noticing, and it costs the product points on transparency instead.
- Spec transparency7.1/10, weight 18%
- 5 of the 7 specifications we went looking for are published by Adam's Polishes. Every blank row below is something the maker will not put in writing, and it costs the product points here.
