Topping up the coating, not covering it
Four of these six are sold to work with a coating. 3D say their SiO2 detailer refreshes and maintains a ceramic coating between details; Shine Supply call Punch-It ideal for ceramic coatings because it boosts slickness and beading without a recoat; The Rag Company state AMPLIFY goes over waxes, sealants and coatings; and CarPro sell Reload as a silica topper that also works on its own.
The other two add their own layer. Mothers blend carnauba with nano-quartz ceramic and say it works over a coating, sealant or wax. Turtle Wax’s 3-in-1 lays down a ceramic wax and does not mention coatings at all.

Three ways to use one
Shine Supply publish three methods for Punch-It: a final wipe on a washed, dry car, a mist on each wet panel as a drying aid, or a spray-on, rinse-off boost after 5 to 10 seconds of dwell. They also publish the most common failure, which is using too much: it streaks, and the fix is a clean towel. CarPro say Reload works on wet or dry paint. One durability figure
CarPro publish up to 3 months for Reload used on its own on a daily driver. Nobody else here gives a figure, which is normal for a detail spray: on a coated car it is topping up the coating’s behavior, and how long that lasts depends on the washing.
Cost per ounce
AMPLIFY is 84 cents an ounce in the 16 oz bottle, and 3D’s gallon brings its detailer to 35 cents. Punch-It is $1.50 an ounce and Reload about $2.13, which is the price of the only published durability figure. Turtle Wax’s 3-in-1 is the cheapest at 47 cents, and the one that is not built for a coating.
