Answer this before you read any further
Do you own a pressure washer? If yes, buy a cannon. If no, you are choosing between a garden-hose foam gun, which produces a thin wet foam that runs off before it dwells, and spending $200 or more on a pressure washer first. That is the actual decision, and no amount of cannon comparison changes it.
A cannon works by mixing soap solution into a high-pressure stream through a small orifice. Take the pressure away and the mechanism does not function properly — the mix ratio collapses and what comes out is soapy water with bubbles in it. Why brass matters and plastic does not
The parts of a foam cannon that wear are the orifice and the threads. An orifice that erodes changes the mix ratio, which is why a cheap cannon that foamed well in year one is disappointing in year three. Brass holds its dimensions; plated pot metal does not, and plastic threads strip.
