Drying is where most wash-induced swirls come from. A blower removes the towel from the equation, and the specification that matters is air volume, not watts.

Drying is where the swirls come from
A properly executed wash puts almost nothing abrasive on your paint. Then the car is covered in water, and the standard next step is dragging a towel across every panel. That towel is the second-largest source of wash-induced marring after the mitt.
A blower removes the contact entirely. It also gets water out of the places a towel cannot reach — mirror housings, badge gaps, grille slats, wheel faces — which is where the drips come from ten minutes after you think you have finished.
CFM is the specification. Watts is not.
Three of the five products here lead with a wattage figure. Wattage describes electricity drawn, not air moved, and two motors of the same wattage can move very different volumes of air depending on the fan. Chemical Guys publish 1000 watts for the ProBlow — the largest wattage number on this page — and no air figure at all.
EGO publish CFM, and they publish it twice: a headline peak and an adjustable working range. They are the only maker here who does. That is why both EGO units sit at the top of this page even though neither was designed specifically for cars.

The two things a leaf blower cannot do
The EGO units are garden blowers pressed into detailing service, and they have two disadvantages that no CFM figure fixes. They do not filter the air, so whatever dust is in your garage goes onto wet paint. And they do not heat it.
Adam’s Vac N Blo does both, and it publishes the one suction figure on this page: 60 inches of sealed water lift, at 500 watts and 3 lb. Heated air shortens drying and helps with door shuts. If dust is a problem where you wash, that trade is worth $145 less spending power on air volume.
Corded, cordless, and the cable across wet paint
The two cheapest options here are corded, which means a live cable dragging across a wet car. It is manageable and people do it every day; it is also the reason cordless costs more. Both EGO units are battery powered with published runtimes, which is the specification that decides whether one battery does a whole car.
