Orbit and plate size
The G8 runs a single 8mm orbit on 2 or 3 inch plates. The SK Pro Micro swaps heads on a 1.5 inch plate: a 12mm orbit for more movement, a 3mm orbit for gentle work, and a rotary. The larger plate covers more paint per pass; the smaller one reaches further into tight spots.
Cord versus battery
Griot’s publish the G8’s motor at 700 watts and say it has 191% more power than the 3 inch machine it replaced. Adam’s publish no motor figure for the SK Pro Micro, but they do publish what the G8 page does not: a speed range of 2,000 to 6,000 per minute, two 12V 2.3Ah batteries, and up to an hour of run time at maximum speed. If you would rather not depend on batteries, Adam’s sell it with a cord adapter for $269.99.
